About European Public Diplomacy Week
European Public Diplomacy Week (EPDW) takes place from 23 to 27 June 2025 and brings together different EU institutions working on public diplomacy and international people-to-people initiatives, to share best practices and exchange ideas. Besides EU institutions, there are contributions from networks of regions and cities, civil society, cultural projects, practitioners and academics from across the world.
EVENTS
In-person attendance for all events is invitation-based. For those who cannot attend physically, most events can be followed via webstream. Below you will find an overview of all the events taking place as part of European Public Diplomacy Week. All times are CET.
MONDAY 23 JUNE
European Public Diplomacy: a global grassroots approach

3 high-level panels will tackle how the EU can engage with partners on the ground worldwide.
3 key areas will be discussed:

- how to engage with business communities (15h00 - 15h45)
- how to work with EU diaspora organisations (16h15 - 17h00).

Climate Diplomacy

Panel discussion
The European Union works together with partners across the world implementing measures to fight climate change. The panel will highlight how public diplomacy is supporting these efforts and can create common action even where traditional state relations have become more difficult.

“Subnational public diplomacy: cities and regions for global impact”
Panel discussion
Cities and regions are key players in public diplomacy, spurring action on the ground. The panel will focus on how European cities and regions support multilateralism, strengthen local resilience in third countries, and advance the EU's strategic agenda through peer-to-peer cooperation.

“EU-African relations: An African perspective”
Panel Discussion
The panel will bring together a range of African stakeholders and partners online to explore how EU-Africa relations can be strengthened. It will take into account existing perceptions of Europe in Africa, while actively listening to African voices.

Protecting Cultural Heritage in Times of War: Screening of the award winning film ‘Erase the Nation’
Film screening and debate
To mark its 50th anniversary, the European Union Visitors Programme (EUVP), the EU’s flagship tool for public and people-to-people diplomacy, is honoured to host a special screening of Erase the Nation. The screening will be followed by a debate with distinguished representatives of the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Ukrainian diplomatic community.
